Ann-Sophie was born in Dresden and grew up in a village nearby. She started studying chemistry at the TU Dresden in 2015 and engaged 2017 in the French-German double degree. This allowed her to study at the ECPM in Strasbourg, France, for two years. She got the opportunity to do an internship at Bayer Crop Science in Monheim am Rhein, focusing on photochemistry and photo-redox catalysis for fungicide and insecticide research. She later did her master thesis at the Boreskov Institute of Catalysis under supervision of Denis V. Kozlov on the light-induced oxidation of benzyl alcohols over titanium dioxide. Before starting her PhD on iron catalysis in our group, she completed a 6-months internship at Hofmann-La Roche in Basel, Switzerland, to get a deeper understanding on medicinal chemistry. In her free times she enjoys hanging out with friends, discovering new countries and cultures, and a good glass of wine.
